About PONATHA
PONATHA is one of the largest Nautical Clubs in Cyprus. Our club is dedicated to promoting and supporting the sport of sailing and other nautical activities. Our objectives are to provide a welcoming and safe environment for sailors of all levels, from beginners to experienced racers, and to foster a sense of community and camaraderie among our members.
To achieve these objectives, we organize a variety of activities throughout the year. We offer lessons for offshore navigation and sailing, motorboat driving, and sailing for children, so they can learn the basics of sailing and navigating and gain confidence on the water. For more experienced sailors, we organize racing and regatta events, both locally and internationally, to provide them with the opportunity to compete and hone their skills.
We also organize social events, such as barbecues and parties, to bring our members together and build a sense of community. Our club is more than just a place to sail – it’s a place where people with a shared love of the sea can come together and form friendships that last a lifetime.
In addition to our activities, we have a number of objectives that guide our club’s mission. One of our primary objectives is to promote safety on the water. We ensure that our members are well-trained and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to handle any situation that may arise on the water.
Another objective is to promote environmental stewardship. As sailors, we have a responsibility to protect the sea and its inhabitants. We organize regular beach clean-ups and participate in environmental initiatives to promote the preservation of the marine ecosystem.
Overall, our club’s activities and objectives are focused on promoting nautical sports and navigation, building a sense of community among our members, and fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
